Besan Shimla Mirch is a delicious recipe that combines the flavors of bell peppers with the rich texture of gram flour. INGREDIENTS:
- Besan (gram flour) : 3/4 cup
- Shimla Mirch (capsicum) : 3 medium size
- Oil : 4 tbsp
- Cumin Seeds (jeera) : 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds : 1 tsp
- Fennel Seeds (Saunf) : ½ tsp
- Asafoetida (Hing) : 1/3 tsp
- Coriander Powder : 2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder : ½ tsp
- Red Chilli Powder : 1 tsp
- Garam Masala : ¼ 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Dry Mango Powder (Aamchur) : 2 tsp
- Water : 5-6 tbsp
DIRECTIONS:
- Firstly, take a pan and add 3/4 cup besan.
2. Roast it on medium flame until aromatic.
3. Besan is roasted. Turn off the flame and keep aside in a bowl.
4. Now heat 4 tbsp oil in a kadai.
5. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds.
6. 1 tsp mustard seeds.
7. ½ tsp fennel (saunf) seeds.
8. 1/3 tsp asafoetida (hing).
9. Roast it for a minute on low flame.
10. Now add 3 medium size chopped capsicum.
11. Cover and cook it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
12. Add 2 tsp coriander powder.
13. Add ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder and ¼ tsp garam masala.
14. Mix it well.
15. Add the roasted besan.
16. Mix well.
17. Add salt as per tatse and mix.
18. Cover and cook on low medium flame for 2 minutes.
19. Sprinkle some water.
20. Mix it well.
21. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes on low flame.
22. Again sprinkle some water and mix it well.
23. Now add 2 tsp dry mango powder.
24. Mix it well.
25. Besan shimala mirch is ready, turn off the flame.
26. Serve Besan Shimla Mirch sabzi with hot roti or rice. ENJOY!!!
