Instant pulao recipe made with diced Carrot, potatoes, green peas and blend of pulao spices. it is a ideal tiffin box recipe which can be given to kids, adults for lunch or quick meal. it does not require any additional curry or dal as it one pot meal, but tastes when served with a choice of raita.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Oil / Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Bay Leaf (Tej patta) -1
  • Cardamom Pod -2
  • Cloves (Laung) – 2
  • Cinnamon – 1 inch
  • Curry Leaves – 3-4
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Carrot – 1 medium size
  • Potato – 2
  • Peas – ½ cup
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Basmati Rice – 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cup

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Firstly, in a cooker heat 2 tbsp oil / ghee.

2. Add 1 bay leaf (tej patta).

3. Add 2 pods of cardamom, 2 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon stick and 3-4 curry leaves. Saute well.

4. Further add 1 tsp cumin seeds.

5. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds.

6. Now add 1 medium size chopped carrot.

7. Add 2 chopped potatoes.

8. Add ½ cup peas. Mix well and saute for 2 minutes.

9. Add ½ tsp turmeric powder.

10. Add 1 tsp red chilli powder.

11. Add salt as per taste.

12. Mix well and cook for 1 minutes on low flame.

13. Further add 1 cup washed basmati rice and mix well.

14. Lastly, add 2 cup water and mix.

15. Cover and pressure cook for 3 whistles on medium flame.

16. Aloo, gajar and matar pulao is ready to serve.

17. ENJOY!!!! Aloo, gajar and matar pulao along with curd and pickle.
